REJECTION
by Kim Gaston-Garcia
"Ask He says also in Hosea: "I will call them My people, who were not my people, And her beloved, who was not beloved. And it shall come to pass in the place where it was said to them, 'you are not My people; There they shall be called sons of the Living God." Romans 9:25-26 NKJV
A Mother's Love is one of the greatest loves ever known! When there is a rift between you and your child, whether they are young or adults, It can shred a mother's heart! There can be pain from broken relationships of all kinds. Father and daughters, mothers and sons husbands and wives, even that special friend. Rejection of any sort is not easy, and some can be downright heartbreaking! Often times we just wish there was someone that we could talk to someone that would understand! But you know there is someone that understands! Jesus does.
When I was a young Christian I used to think Jesus was perfect. He was the son of God! He knows all about heaven and God's Word on a much more personal basis than me. He knows how to resist temptation. He had loving parents and everything was at His feet! Even though He walked this Earth He didn't really get it.
And of course this couldn't be further from the truth. Jesus did understand! And better than anyone else ever could begin to! He had more rejection in His 33 years on this Earth, than I will ever know in my entire lifetime.
He's been exactly where we are and there are still people that reject Him on a daily basis! He was rejected by so many. But, to understand this you have to understand just how much He loved everyone around Him. How much He loves all of us!
So many scoffed at Him, spit on Him, cursed Him and wanted to see Him dead. He had a few people that were close to Him, but in the end when He was hung on that tree, even Peter denied Him! He even felt rejected by His Heavenly Father!
It says in Matthew 27:46 KJV - "And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying Eli Eli Lama Sabachthani? That is to say, My God, my God, why has Thou forsaken me? "
You see Jesus ALWAYS kept God close. But God cannot look upon sin and because of all the sin He bore for us, God turned away. Jesus probably felt rejected by God at this point, along with everyone else. Of course God NEVER deserted Him. Just as He will never desert us! And God will always take a situation that seems to us to be horrible and make them something great!
I just love that about Him!
Through the crucifixion of Jesus, He has made a way for all of us to easily accept the love and forgiveness of God, that we might all have eternal life. Just look at the love Jesus receives now from His children! I know there is nothing better than the love of your children except for the love of the Holy One.
God, You are so good, You care for us, tonight we rest in your protection. and your blessing amen!
